Itinerary of a Fes to Sahara desert tour price 2 days Morocco

DAY 1: Fes => Ifrane => => Midelt => Ziz Valley => Errachidia => Merzouga

=> You will have an early start this Fes to Sahara desert tour to travel south into the dramatic landscapes of the Middle Atlas, heading first towards Imouzzer and Ifrane and passing near the small mountain village of Azrou, which translates in Berber as “the rock”.

This is the land of fiercely independent Berbers, masters of the Atlas, whose traditions and ways still prevail here in their mountain strongholds far from the cities below.

 The Berbers offer us a unique insight into a way of life lost in the rest of North Africa, where music and dance, and even language and religion, are far from their Arab neighbours.

=> You continue your way into the Berber sheep-breeding country, heading to Timadite and over the Col du Zad, before crossing the Tizi Talghemt Camel Pass and continuing Fes to the Sahara desert tour through the Gorge Ziz to Er Rachidia. Admiring the beauty of the old abandoned kasbahs and the Berber villages located along the way.

 Arrived in Merzouga, you will enter the ocean of desert dunes on the back of a camel that will take us to the camp where you will spend the night staying in an authentic Berber camp.

Day 2: Merzouga => Midlet => Ifrane => Fes

=> That’s early if you want to wake up at dawn to watch the sun begin its daily arch with a cool blue morning sky as the shadows of the desert light up before becoming a glowing fireball.

The sand is always changing, but an experienced camel guide knows the ripples and slopes of the surrounding dunes and will take you to a great vantage point to enjoy the sunrise. We will watch the first golden rays of the sun hit the brown desert dunes and then return to your camp for a delicious breakfast.

=> You will back to your hotel. Then after leaving the desert, you will begin your Fes to Sahara desert tour price backing to Fez. Drive along the Ziz River with its gorgeous palm-lined oasis and fortified castles all the way to Midelt, a small town in the middle of the Atlas Mountains, where you’ll stop for lunchtime.

In the afternoon, continue crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains towards Fes. You’ll notice a dramatic change in the landscape: snow-capped mountains, cedar forests, rich vegetation, and 180 arid and rocky landscapes for the rest of the tour fes to merzouga distance

Your desert tour will end in the early evening and your driver will take you to your riad in Fes.

2 days desert trip Fes to Merzouga

Nice desert tour from Fes to Sahara of Erg-Chebbi, good value for money. It’s a lot of driving but we had a very nice and good driver Hassen who made us all feel very comfortable. Hotel of first night was okay, the second night we got a private tent with beds and warm blankets. Camel ride was a bit short and camp was close to the road but we expected that so it was fine.
