Itinerary of Camel Trekking Merzouga Desert 3 Days Morocco
Day 1: Camel Ride → Exploring Erg Chebbi → Overnight in Berber Camp
Arrival in Merzouga:
We will meet you at the Hassi Labiad guesthouse, where you will store your luggage not needed in the desert. From here, you’ll be ready to begin your trek into the dunes.Camel Ride to Desert Camp:
Set off in the late afternoon, riding camels through the beautiful Erg Chebbi dunes. This one-hour trek will take you deeper into the desert, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the golden sand dunes. Once you reach the camp, you will hike to the top of the dunes to witness a magical sunset over the desert.
- Night in the Berber Camp:
At the camp, you’ll enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner around a campfire while listening to Berber drumming. Afterward, you can either retreat to your tent or sleep under the stars, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the desert.
Day 2: Sunrise → Walking in Erg Chebbi → Nomad Experience
Sunrise over the Dunes:
Wake up early to see the sunrise over the mesmerizing dunes of Erg Chebbi. Afterward, enjoy a traditional Moroccan breakfast at the camp.Climb to the Dune Top:
After breakfast, take a short walk to the highest dune for a magnificent panoramic view of the desert.Nomad Visit & Camel Ride:
Continue your trek by camel to visit a Berber nomadic family in their traditional desert home. You’ll share a meal (Berber pizza) with them in a nomadic tent and learn about their lifestyle.Return to Camp:
In the afternoon, head back to your Berber camp, where you’ll have some time to relax. You can also try sandboarding on the dunes before enjoying a second night under the stars in the desert.

Dinner and Drum Concert: In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner prepared by your nomadic hosts. Afterward, gather around a campfire to enjoy a drum concert under the stars, immersing yourself in the rhythm of Berber culture.
Day 4: Return to Merzouga
Return to Merzouga:
After breakfast with the Berber family, you’ll ride back to Merzouga, where you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation. This marks the end of your camel trekking adventure through the Merzouga Desert.
