Next, continue your journey to the imperial city of Meknes where you will explore historical points of interest such as the ruins of Moulay Ismail and the huge Bab El Mansour gate. Later, you will reach the ancient city of Fez, the cultural capital of Morocco. overnight at your Riad in Fez.
DAY 4: Full Day in Fez
=> Today after breakfast in the fourth day of Trip to Marrakech from Tangier, your local guide will meet you at your riad for a guided tour of the city. To start your tour, you will first go to the Royal Palace and then walk around the old Mellah (the Jewish Quarter) of the city. From here, you will head to one of the towers “the tower” and you will get a panoramic view of the entire Medina. Next, you’ll head to a mosaic house where you will get a demonstration of the traditional pottery methods used by Fezian artisans – you will see every step of the process from shaping the clay to cutting the mosaics together.

DAY 5: Fes => Ifrane => Midelt => Ziz Valley => Errachidia => Merzouga
=> Today fifth day of Trip to Marrakech from Tangier, breakfast in your raid, you will make your way to the desert. Your first stop of the day will be the city of Ifrane. Known as “Little Switzerland”, this city is unlike anywhere else in Morocco. Even the local café has a more European feel with delicious pastries and coffee. After a short stop here, you’ll continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains to Azrou and through the largest cedar forest in all of Africa – home to the Atlas monkeys (also known as Barbary monkeys). These demanding little guys will probably expect you to pay for the peanuts before letting you continue on to the high plains between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains.
=> After lunch, you will continue on your trip to Merzouga and the great sandy sea of the Erg Chebbi desert. You will arrive in time for a simple exploration of the desert area and a little time to relax and unwind from the days of driving. Just before sunset, you will climb on the back of a camel and go on a trek through the dunes to your Berber camp at night. Once you get there you will watch the sunset and the stars come out. Dinner will be served and traditional music will be played while relaxing around the campfire and gazing at the stars. When you’re ready, you can retire to your tent for the night. Or, if you wish, you can sleep under the stars.
DAY 6: Merzouga desert => Saghro => Tinghir => Toudgha => Dades

Afterward, you will visit the nearby Todgha Gorge where you will walk through the most impressive part of the valley. Next, you will head to the beautiful Dades Valley for your overnight accommodations.
DAY 7: Dades => Ouarzazate => Ait Ben Haddou => High Atlas mountains => Marrakech
=> After having breakfast in the early morning, you will drive towards the Ouarzazate, a desert city at the gates of the desert. Its strange name means “without noise” in the Berber language. Walk around the village of Taourirt, which was built in the 12th century and is still inhabited today. It was an important village located at the crossroads between the Sahara and northern Morocco. Your tour also includes the Kasbah Taourirt, an impressive building that was built to house hundreds of people.
=>Visit Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This famous kasbah was built in Morocco during the 20th century by Thami El Galaoui, one of the last Berber chiefs. Within the walls of the Kasbah, which used to be one of El Galaoui’s stops on his long journey to Marrakesh, there are half a dozen merchant houses and other individual residences that will surely amaze you because of the unique way in which they are built. The Kasbah is also famous for being the setting for many films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and many others. Head back to your trip, while you enjoy the historical disc of the Kasbah, you will depart for Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains.
